This Privacy Policy explains how RealtyPrep ("RealtyPrep", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects your personal information when you use the RealtyPrep website and services (the "Service"). RealtyPrep is based in British Columbia, Canada. We handle personal information in accordance with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA). By using the Service, you agree to this Policy and to our Terms of Service.
We collect the following categories of personal information:
If you sign in through a third-party provider (such as Google), we receive the information you authorize that provider to share. We may also receive limited measurement data from advertising and analytics platforms.
We rely on your consent, the need to perform our contract with you, and our legitimate business interests (such as securing and improving the Service) as the bases for these uses, consistent with Canadian privacy law. We do not sell your personal information.
The AI tutor is powered by a third-party artificial-intelligence provider. When you use it, your prompt and the relevant lesson context are sent to that provider to generate a response. Please do not enter sensitive personal information about yourself or others into the AI tutor. We may retain limited records of tutor usage (such as which actions were used and when) to operate the feature, enforce usage limits, and improve the Service.
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as described here, with service providers who process it on our behalf under confidentiality and data-protection obligations:
We may also disclose personal information if required by law, to respond to lawful requests, to protect our rights, safety, and property or those of others, to detect or prevent fraud, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets (in which case we will require the recipient to honour this Policy).
We and our service providers may store and process your personal information on servers located outside of your province or outside of Canada, including in the United States. Where information is handled in another country, it may be accessible to courts, law enforcement, and regulatory authorities in that country under its laws. By using the Service, you consent to this transfer, storage, and processing outside your jurisdiction. We take steps intended to ensure your information continues to be protected in line with this Policy.
We use cookies and similar technologies for three purposes: essential cookies that keep you signed in and enable core features; analytics cookies that help us understand usage; and advertising and attribution cookies that measure how our marketing performs. You can clear or block cookies through your browser settings, but blocking essential cookies will break sign-in and other core features. Where required, we obtain consent for non-essential cookies. Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" signal; because there is no common standard, we respond to it only as required by applicable law.
Consistent with Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL), we send commercial electronic messages only with the consent required by law. You can withdraw consent and unsubscribe at any time using the link in our emails or by contacting us. We may still send you non-marketing, service-related messages that are necessary to operate your account.
We keep personal information for as long as your account is active and as long as needed to provide the Service, comply with our legal and tax obligations, resolve disputes, verify guarantee claims, and enforce our agreements. When information is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it.
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards intended to protect personal information, including encryption in transit, access controls, and row-level security on our database. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for the security of your own devices.
Subject to applicable law, you may request to access, correct, update, or delete your personal information, and you may withdraw consent to certain uses (which may limit or end your ability to use the Service). To make a request, email privacy@realtyprep.ca. We will respond within the time required by law and may need to verify your identity first. You may delete your account at any time; some information may be retained as described in Section 8.
The Service is intended for adults preparing for professional licensing and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of majority in their province. If you believe a minor has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
We may update this Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, notify you by email or in-app. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Policy.
